Caramel Dip

I’m a big caramel fan! When I was a kid, I was obsessed with Sugar Daddy candy. Does anyone remember those? They are basically caramel lollipops . Man, those things were good.

My caramel tastes are more sophisticated these days and I like to try to convince myself that eating caramel with apples is a better choice. That’s totally a healthier option right?

Caramel anything is good in my book, but caramel and apples are such a quintessential combination especially in the fall. This caramel dip makes enjoying both of them together super easy.

Plain caramel sauce is great for dipping apples in, but this dip recipe takes it to a whole other level with it’s creamy fluffiness that is so sweet and delightful for dipping.

Tips for making Caramel Dip for Apples

What kind of caramel sauce should you use?
You can use your favorite store bought or make your own caramel sauce from scratch for this recipe. Either will work great.

How to keep apple slices from turning brown?
My go to is lemon juice. I usually just squeeze a little bit of lemon juice on the apples once sliced, but this does leave a slight lemon taste.

If you prefer not to impact the taste at all, Serious Eats has a great guide with lots of tricks to keep your apple slices fresh.

What is the easiest way to slice an apple?
I’m partial to my apple slicer. I used to just cut them by hand, but once I finally bought on of these handy tools, I became spoiled. I love this thin apple slicer when I’m slicing apples for dip recipes.
