Key Lime Pie Dip

Key Lime Pie Dip is so simple to throw together and is the perfect mix of sweet and tart for a year round dessert.

Who really needs the pie part of key lime pie? How about an easy key lime pie dip with that same great taste?

No baking required! Just add ingredients and mix. If you like yours less tart, then you can easily tone it down by adjusting the amount of key lime juice used.

The hardest thing about this dip is trying to decide how to eat it. One graham cracker or two at a time? Vanilla wafer? I’ve even had a friend make a graham cracker sandwich out of this.

Of course there is always the option of just eating the key lime dip using a spoon too 🙂

Tips for making Key Lime Pie Dip

Do you need fresh key limes?

No, I use key lime juice that I buy in a bottle. You can certainly use fresh squeezed juice, but I think the bottle stuff works great and doesn’t take nearly as long as squeezing a bunch of small key limes.

Where do I find bottled key lime juice?

Not all grocery stores carry it, but I can find Nellie & Joe’s bottled key lime juice at my local Kroger and a couple of other places. In my store, it’s located in the fruit juice aisle. You can also buy it on Amazon

Are key limes the same as regular limes?

No, key limes are smaller and have a slightly different flavor. Key limes are also more acidic. Read more about key limes

    1. Hi Sharon, I’ve only ever made this recipe with key lime juice. You could certainly try regular lime juice and I’m sure it would still be good although maybe a slightly different flavor. If you try it, let me know how it turns out.

I made it with regular lime juice, following the recipe exactly in all other ways, and it was amazing. Like Keylime pie without the pie.

    1. This makes a good amount so I think it could easily serve 20 people at a potluck with other food. I have 10 servings listed as an estimate if this is the only dessert/ snack. It keeps for a few days so you could always double.

We LOVE this so very much!!!! Thank you so very much for sharing this will be a must have at all of our family gatherings.

    1. Hi Helen, you could certainly serve this as a dip inside a pie crust, but I would not try to make an actual pie out of this recipe. This makes a dip like consistency which wouldn’t hold together when sliced as a pie.

  2. I don’t often do reviews but this was so good I had to!! Made this for Labor Day BBQ and it was a huge hit! Everyone said it was amazing and wanted the recipe. This will be my summer bbq go to dessert. I did add 1/2 cup of lime juice as I like a little bit of a stronger lime taste and I stirred in lime zest. This is a must make for those who like key lime. Oh and it takes 5 mins to make!!

  3. Absolutely loved it! Key lime pie is my favorite pie, so when I saw this and how simple it was it was a no brainer. I made a double batch for my work pot luck tomorrow and can’t wait for them to try it!
