Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I have a great and easy Thanksgiving appetizer recipe for you- White Cheddar, Pumpkin, and Sage Dip. This dip is perfect for the fall!
Wow, I am so looking forward to Thanksgiving this year! November has been such a busy month for me.
I was out of town for almost the entire first week for work and then I got an ear infection (no fun!). I’m so ready for some relaxation and of course some good food.
My husband is smoking two turkeys this year and we’ll be hosting dinner for his mom and some of our good friends. Then I will spend Black Friday shopping and spending time with my family.
OK, let’s talk about this white cheddar, pumpkin, and sage dip recipe. I will say, this dip was a first for me.
I did not grow up eating pumpkin, not even pumpkin pie. My taste buds have changed dramatically since I was a kid though and I now love sweet pumpkin treats in the fall.
However, the idea of pumpkin in a savory dish still seemed odd to me and I really wasn’t sure if I would like a savory pumpkin dip.
Well, I made this dip and took one bite and thought: Hmmm…this is pretty tasty! I guess I can now add savory pumpkin to the list of things I like.
I only used a small amount of pumpkin in the recipe so it is not too overpowering. This dip also features fresh sage which is a very popular herb this time of year and is used in a lot of Thanksgiving recipes.
A combination of cream cheese and white cheddar cheese nicely compliment and balance out the pumpkin and sage flavors.
This white cheddar, pumpkin, and sage dip can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for several days. Serve with your favorite crackers or pretzels.
