Taco Dip with Meat and Cream Cheese

Creamy, hot taco dip with meat and cream cheese.  It's like a ground beef taco pizza dip! Great for Cinco de Mayo or an easy party dip.

Ingredients

Dip

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 8oz block of cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 packets taco seasoning (or 3 tbsp homemade taco seasoning)
  • 1/4 cup taco sauce (or more if desired)
  • 1 cup monterey jack cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Toppings

  • lettuce
  • tomatoes
  • additional sour cream

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 
  • In a large skillet, brown and crumble ground beef. Drain. 
  • Add water and 1 taco seasoning packet or (2 tbsp homemade seasoning). Simmer for 5 minutes and set aside. 
  • Using a mixer on medium speed, mix the cream cheese until smooth. 
  • Add in sour cream and 1/2 taco seasoning packet (or 1 tbsp homemade seasoning) and mix to combine. 
  • Spread cream cheese mixture into a 9 inch pie dish. 
  • Spread taco sauce over mixture. 
  • Add crumbled ground beef on top. 
  • Bake for 10 minutes. 
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheese on top. Bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
  • Top with lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream (or your favorite taco toppings). Serve warm with tortilla chips.
