BBQ Bacon French Onion Dip

A twist on the classic french onion dip, this easy homemade BBQ Bacon French Onion Dip is a great appetizer for a cookout, party or potluck.

Ingredients

  • 2 yellow onions, diced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 8 oz block of cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp BBQ seasoning (dry seasoning, not sauce)
  • 8 oz sour cream
  • 3 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

Instructions

  • Add onions, butter, and oil in a saute pan and heat over medium heat. Cook about 20 minutes or until the onions are a nice golden brown in color, stirring occasionally,
  • Using a mixer on medium speed, whip the cream cheese until smooth. Add in sour cream and BBQ seasoning and mix until combined. Fold in cooked onions and crumbled bacon.
  • Refrigerate for at least an hour.
